You do this song with a capo on 4? Thats awesome! I played through it a couple times with a capo on 2 and got it down pretty easily. Its an amazing song. So far, one of my all time Woodward favs...
Keep it up.
We should do this song together sometime...sometime before I move. :(
Troublemaker was my favorite song....that is until I heard "Josephine"at Amici and it's hard to choose between the two.I think they're both great songs.Keep up the good work Josh...I'll be listening...even if your only wispering.
Josh, you should post the solo part and picking pattern for Josephine. Great song! Keep it up.
Good questions - I don't remember the slide solo section well, but I think it was tuned in open C (CGCGCE) with a capo a few frets up.
Here's a video about how to do the picking pattern.
I managed to figure out the slide solo (In standard tuning whilst Capo'd) on my Resonator a while back.
http://shrib.com/6KscUdXu Is a notepad link to the TAB I wrote up just now, both in relation to and not in relation to a Capo.
This may not be the actual way it was played but the notes are the same regardless.
Good luck with it!
Sorry for the double post, I forgot to mention that there is an option in the corner to change the font to a more accessible format for TAB reading. Enjoy.
While the chords are mostly pretty easy in this one (I'm lacking a capo though), I'm finding your D/F# difficult to strum properly. Any tips?
Hey Lasse! The chord is 2x023x, and I finger the low E string with my pointer finger, the G string with my middle, and the B string with my ring.
Hey I have just started to listen English songs...as it is not my first language and never thought of listening to them ...I heard different singers and was unable to completely comprehend them... I found your accent and poetry the best I have ever heard.... Thanks alot for giving this precisions gift of beautiful songs to us
... Keep rocking....am mesmerized by every node of you
have you ever heard a song and think, wow i wish i would have written that, thats what i feel about this song. i was @ the 11/25/05. when you played this song. i was completly blown away. you have a tallent my friend. keep em coming
I loved this song. It's one of my fav. Keep up the good work.
i love this song, not just because it's about "me".
the lyric, how you sing... just amazing.thx
ive listened to this song so many times but i wonder what youre really sining about
It's about whatever you think it's about. :) Whenever I read the story of what a song I like is really about, I'm usually disappointed because it breaks the image I've made in my brain. Much sadness is the result.
oh yeah, i know what you mean. but i really like the melancholy kind of melody, and it gives me a good image in my head, so mission accomplished eh? :)
I have a friend who has to have a special ringtone for every friend in his phone, a little tidious I imagine, but one of his many charming quirks. When looking for one to assign me he came across your song, I don't believe he really listened very closely or tried to understand the meaning, merely liked it because the name "Josephine" was in it. I have to say to begin with I enjoyed that as well, so often nowaddays names are shortened down to the smallest form, so I was rather taken with a song about a girl names Josephine. Then, after only having heard the ringtone once or twice, I couldn't get it out of my head. I downloaded it and listened to it at least 7 times consecutively. It's not just the lyrics or the sturm of the guitar that I couldn't get rid of. The feeling that came over me after while it was playing was what drew me back, again and again. This beautiful, tragic, haunting melody. There are maybe two other songs that I have come across that have been able to envoke such an emotional reaction out of me like that. You have an amazing and rare talent and have also gained another loyal fan. By reading some of the other posting, I know I'm not the only one affected, certainly not the last, and no doubt you have people babble on and on all the time about this and I'd hate to bother you with another, but I had to let you know just how much I adore this particular song and all of your music thanks to the chance learning of "josephine"
i love this song but it just gives me the chills and makes me nearly want to cry. how you were able to push so much emotion through a song Josh i cannot tell but thank you so much for this one of many beautiful pieces of art.
Hey Josh, I first heard you when playing apple jack on the Xbox. Really loved the sound track and wanted to jam it on the guitar. So glad you've tabbed out your songs. I was wondering if you could tell me exactly which songs are on the soundtrack and do you have the instrumentals online (not that I don't like your voice =P)?
Cheers
Jim
Hey Jim! Awesome - unfortunately, I'm not sure which songs were used. Do the credits list them somewhere?
Ahhh nah I sold my Xbox a while ago so I dunno. I spose listening to all of your songs won't be much of a chore ^_^
The songs are listed in the credits of Applejack, I remembered e-mailing the creator of the game who pointed out that they were in the credits. The songs used were:
Frannie
I'm Letting Go
I'll be right behind you Josephine
Of Dark Rooms and Crooked Candles
Shadows in the Moonlight
There was also one more but I completely forgot the name, I haven't played Applejack in over a year, but I'm glad I did as it led me here.
