Reviews

The Sober Irishman:

I like it. Excellent production, as usual. That bit just before 'Palestine' is very well executed. I love the lyrical content. You and boxcar should just collab and be the next Songfight Supergroup. Your vocals don't sound quite as clean as they usually do. I like the bongos. I want some. This is my favorite JW track so far. Great job. (2nd place)

The 'Over:

Im not really qualified to comment on the lyrics because Im pretty politically ignorant. But the tune is real good and the singing is excellent as always. Bongos!!! Love em. Youre bloody good at this man!

GuitarPlayer752:

(Josh Woodward won my vote. The topic of the lyrics remind me of NOFX sorta.)

Boxcar Jones:

I think this is the most "Josh-ish" song youve wrote in a while. I agree with you that your lyrics communicate greatly on this song and the production is perfect(do I hear a mandolin? it fits in there so well). I cant really suggest anything, this is a great song. (vote)

Langston Henry:

Cleanly recorded and arranged song asks the sensitive question: Why? This gets pretty heavily into the religious aspects and stays serious.

Blue:

Just can't get into it, sorry.

Bolio:

Solid. Sincere. Very powerful near the end. Definitely a keeper. Is this not a great fight??? (vote)

JoshyBlue:

guitars sound good... vocals sound good... this is very well done - but i'm not feeling the genre at all... comes across as a bit too sappy earnest cheese fried for me (6)

C.Layne:

yay! i love josh! wait.... is this a political song? dammit. nothin' against you, buddy... politics and music just seem to clash for me. i'm sure 99.9% of anyone else will argue with that, but they make me cringe. BUT!! enough with that! i do enjoy the music here, excellent production, as always. singing and playing are impeccable... and these are the things that matter to me, so high five!

Neil Thrun:

Amazingly beautiful. The lyrics were extremely strong. It made me think quite abit.

Bell Green:

Josh Woodward gets my vote - I didn't have to listen twice. Choked me up.

Jim of Seattle:

Your style is always very accessible pop, but usually has a little more unique specialness than this one. The production and performance is ready for pressing, to my ear. I spent a long time waiting for some really honey-dripping hook to grab onto, which I never got. Love the bongos. Unfortunately the songwriting is kind of forgettable. (honorable mention)

Poor June:

my vote went to josh woodward...

The Voice Inside My Head:

hooray finally a non-instrumental. didn't really grab me too much though.
