HoogieBlue:

Desperado... when will you come to your senses? Oops, wrong song.

User:

Mmm, I like that organ. I also like the slidy-sounding guitar. Great instrumentation all around, really. Beautiful. This might be one of my favorite JW songs. The tune doesn't actually stand out a lot, but you arranged and performed it so well that it's hard to notice that.

NiceGeoff:

This is nice sounding, but very unstimulating in the same way the verses from ben folds five's "brick" are....Where's the awesome chorus? The climax was pretty awesome...There should have been more of them.

Ryn:

Argh here comes that jerk with the 700 dollar microphones. Wow major John Mayer vibe going on here. I like it. Again, well put together. How the hell do you get a damn piano and violin playing? Do you play all those? No real suggestions, another good song. Possible vote... (vote)

Jack Shite:

i like the organ and the dobro. nice visuals with the lyrics too. could use some percussion. i thought you just got a drum kit. the buildup with the string section really busys up the mix with your guitar noodling in there. nice ending. nice tune too.

Wreckdom:

Obsessing over a married woman, nice. Would you want to hear this over and over again? Not me.

Buffalo Speedway:

Josh, I wish I could study production with you for a while. Your mixes are always top notch, high quality, and perfectly normalized. I've been a fan for a while. That applies to your songs and lyrics as well. Any tips you have for the rest of us would really be appreciated. All that aside, good song. Wonderful guitar and voice work. Great lyrics, too. This one drew me in, even though it isn't as hummable as your "Twelve Monkeys" or as clever as "Violet wants it her way." Perfect ending. Good job once again! Got your message also about the "friends voting for me" issue on last week's fight. I was excited that I made a song that sounded at least halfway decent and I wanted my friends to listen. I really hoped that they wouldn't just vote for me (in fact, I told some that they shouldn't) without listening to all of the entries. In fact, one of the votes was my damned aunt who voted for me without even listening to ANY of the songs. UGH! For the record, I'm here to see the best music win and I really liked yours much better. I'm a sucker for good lyrics and ours on "Fear is Free" were fun to sing and all but rather fluffy. I suspect the same thing happened with Def Author on "Say the Word." My money in that fight was on Pompeii. That, and Def Author is no MC Frontalot. But then, who is?

I totals get an Eagles vibe. The music and lyrics are excellent. I love the acoustic lead hammer riff. Your lyrics are incredible. Nice song.

HeuristicsInc:

this reminds me of something. this song needs some soaring electric guitars. oh yeah, i know, it's a song by the australian band "not drowning, waving" from the album "circus". anyway, this is really good. i love it. the whole feeling of the track is excellent, good emotion. great buildup here. Have you ever heard the JayHawks ? I like them, kind of countryish folk rock. They have this feel in some of their earlier work. I like the heart in this tune. Sad, and yet normal. Wow, like a high school reunion. Beautiful. However the Ringing at the end might be the only unnecessary part. 4/5, vote

Roymond:

Awesome production, instrumentation. Its nothing too deep but presented in a gripping way. You've got a flare for this style of putting together the pace, essense and breath of a story. And you nailed this production. 9.5 *VOTE-click*

Caravan Ray:

Very nice. Have you ever heard David Bridie of Not Drowning, Waving? Your sound is very reminiscent of him 9/10, vote
