Rejects Remixed
Posted on Fri, Nov 27 2009

Seems like there's definitely a lot of interest in a remixed Only Whispering, so I'll probably tackle that soon. In the meantime, I'm working on giving touchups to some of stuff in the reject bin. As much as I'd love most of those songs to die a humane and peaceful death, they're still getting a lot of downloads and use in projects. So I'm tacking them in batches.

The first batch of 2004-era stuff is now online and ready for download:

All of these will get instrumental mixes as well (one of the main reasons I wanted to do this). I'd say "enjoy", but that might be a little ambitious. How about: "may your ears no longer bleed" instead? :)

No, he just naturally sings with stair-stepped pitches. :D

*goes into deep hiding in case Mr. Cadaret is still living in this hemisphere*

Great!
I've been waiting for a better version of Fear Is Free for a long time! Thanks for doing this.

Great!
Of course! I did what I could with that one, but it was a really raw and simple recording. I came up with a couple riffs, stuck a mic in front of an amp, hit record, and played the song as it is in one take. The whole last half was improvised, without a click track. I recorded the drums and the other instruments on top of that later. Definitely sounds better now, though!

Wrong Side of the Revolution came out great. I think that's definitely one of your underrated tunes. It needs to slip back into a setlist sometime.

I have yet to hear anything of yours that even comes close to bleeding-ears material.

Sounds
I have mostly ignored your rejects bin for obvious reasons.
However, I am loving these remixed songs. Most notably, I am hearing sounds I haven't heard before in your music. I like it.

Fear is Free and Revolution stand out. I always liked Revolution - but you really added a nice kick.

You inspire me.
