Posted on Thu, Nov 6, 2008 It's been a good eight months since I wrote a song, so when it was brought to my attention that my five year Songfightaversary was coming up, I decided to put together a song for this week's contest for old times' sake. You can listen and download it here! The fight title is "Stomach For It", but I'm renaming my entry to "Swansong". This is now one of my favorite songs of yours. After your eight month hiatus, I am impressed (as always).
This song is an amazing return to form, or at least to the recording studio--I've listened to several times back-to-back already. It's gentle and upbeat but there's a certain underlying strength and rocking edge to it. Great work as always.
At this point I've given up on being surprised by your tunes. They're always so damn good. I particularly like the rythm section on this song. The bass track is solid, and matches the kick drum nicely.
