New MP3: "History Repeats"
Posted on Sat, Feb 02 2008 One down, 13½ to go! My first song for February Album Writing Month is called "History Repeats", and I think it might have the slowest tempo of any song I've ever done. Not quite in Sigur Rós territory, but that takes practice. Enjoy! A couple oddities here: the drum overheads are the Apex 205 ribbon mics, as are the vocals. This gave a really nice warm and organic sound to the mix, and for 80 bucks a pop, I'm a happy camper. The guitar is going through Guitar Rig 3 through the Blackface emulator. Despite the '66 Blackface Pro Reverb sitting next to my drum kit. Sometimes I just have to trust my ear.
WHOOT!!! I like this one a lot. *download*
I agree, the weatherman is a liar...where is that 4-8 inches of snow I was supposed to expect???
Heh, yeah, that line was the inspiration for the rest of the song. That was really irritating. :)
