I'm just curious - for those of you who have heard all or most of my albums, which is your favorite?
Not Quite Connected, hands down.
> Not Quite Connected, hands down.
Oh, you're so right with that one. Two of my favorites (Josie Has the Upper Hand, and Carol, Let Me Talk) are in that CD. I just loved it.
Hmm, some-times something creates some beautiful things, the beautiful some-things become all-things, other beautiful-things destruct the first beautiful-things. But there is always very-first-beautiful-things.
some-things and very-first-beautiful-things are all-things,
some-times beautiful-things spill, after the fully e-jaculation of some-things ;
now, there is only very-first-beautiful-things.
now, but not every-where.

Josh W.,
Your music, destructs beautifully.
Smash'm good with goodness!
I am gearing up to re-introduce my podcast, which I hope will feature great music from independent artists each week. I had visions of conducting an interview over the phone on the show with you, and this was the one question I hoped that you, or an audience member, would not ask me. Why? Because it's impossible to answer.
You have no idea how many miles you've been my co-pilot on my way to and from work or in my office trying to motivate myself to get caught up with work. Your song Coffee--yeah that's me. :)
One day I wake up thinking of a song from Not quite connected. The next day, I wake up thinking of a song from Breadcrumbs, the next from The Simple Life. I've got many other bands on my mp3 player, but I listen only to your music. Why? Because it's from the heart where music should be from. And I don't just listen to one album, I listen to them ALL. I haven't listen to another CD or the radio in almost a year!
I know this post may sound obsessed, but there's no other way to convey the gratitude I have for your selflessness to let everyone listen to your music with no strings attached and it comes from the heart! Keep on rockin'. I'll keep on being a big fan and spread the word when and where ever I can!
Crawford Street and Not Quite Connected are my 2 most favorite ones.
I'll give the win to Crawford Street because of Big Disco Ball and Hey Ruth.
My favourite song is Darien Gap, though, so it really is close.
I like Not Quite Connected and Sunny Side of the Street.
But if I think too much I'll start mentioning all the others as well. Can't help it. I like most of them :)
I like Here Today most (exspecaialy Incohearent, Mona Lisa, Learn To Fly and Wake Up), because of the many fast songs. Your newer songs are often slow.
Breadcrumbs and The Simple Life. Mainly because the lyrics are cleverer in them than the others.
Oh and maybe the popularity stats on this is some sort of indication? http://www.last.fm/music/Josh+Woodward/+albums
Such an impossible question! I've been a hardcore fan since the beginning (I attended the Here Today cd release party) and know every album from front to back. My honest and complete choice is actually NONE OF THE ABOVE because they're all equally amazing, but I forced myself to make a decision. I voted Dirty Wings, but ONLY because it contains the most amount of songs I've never seen live (with the exception of Breadcrumbs), so in all fairness it creates this desire to want to see most of these songs live, so I must listen to it more. That's the only way I could justify picking one...
Only whispering was the first one I heard so it has a special place in my heart. Also, my two favorite come off that album.
The Simple Life pt. 2 hands down. From Ships through Shadows in the Moonlight in particular - classic!
You have no idea how hard that was - to pick just ONE album! In the end I voted 'Only Whispering' as 'Of Dark Rooms and Crooked Candles' was the first song of yours I heard - which I loved straight away - and ultimatley it led me to this sight where I discovered more of your brilliant work!
but really - SO HARD to pick just one!
.. to choose, if i must it would probably be Dirty Wings, mainly because it's the first one i've heard; also Breadcrumbs is very good, and for me it's very difficult to choose one amongst the two.
I would have to say Dirty Wings...
My favourite is Dirty Wings.
shaycarl put a song on one of his videos so i came to check you out and wow. you make some of the most beautiful music i've ever heard :)
Definitely Only Whispering. It has some beautiful selections, a few among my favorites--I'll Be Right Behind you Josephine & Sugar on My Tongue. I also really enjoyed your album Crawford Street :D
Dirty Wings definitely because I heard it first and connected to it a lot. Although, every other album is equally as great.
Crawford Street. I love the raw beauty of it. It's a very emotional record, but it doesn't go overboard. I love how it ends with Waiting Takes Time. That's one of my favorite Woodward songs.
Probably Dirty Wings although I mostly listen to both that and Not Quite Connected. 2007 was probably the best year for Josh's music so far, in my opinion, but I enjoy all of the other albums too.
Hi Josh,
Love your music. Purchased what I could from iTunes Australia but two albums: Here Today and Crawford Street aren't available there.
Bought all your others albums in glorious 256kbps AAC but would like to purchase these two also. Can you suggest another avenue to purchase these two albums from down under?
Thanks
PeterSW
Hey Peter! Yeah, I need to get those up on iTunes one of these decades. But I've got an even better deal - 100% CD-quality FLAC files, which you can get from my store on a name-your-own-price basis.
Sunny Side of the Street and Crawford Street! SO awesome. C:
can I change my mind every 45 mins or so 'cos my fave album is whichever one I'm listening to at the time !!
My favorite is Only Whispering the whole album had a great feel to me. I also really enjoyed Crawford Street, none as much as Only Whispering though.
Sunny Side of the Street and Ashes. Incredible...
