I guess you don't like me. :_(
Actually, I'm ambidextrous, but I favor my left. I guess I just like my hand all inky. Don't knock it til' you've tried it... >;)
It's not really about being left-handed...is it?
Homosexuality, I think. It's satire.
First, assume that this is really about left-handedness (sinistrality - it even sounds wrong!). Now, how absurd do all the arguments/comments in the song sound?
Next, assume it's actually referring to homosexuality. Do the arguments seem less absurd than they did when it was about left-handedness? Not really, and yet I've heard comments very similar to what's in this song.
While the inspiration for the song may have been attitudes about homosexuality, I see it as a broader critique on the tendency to fear and loath whatever is different, even when it has no negative impact on any other individual.
Oh, I understand that it is satire. I did not mean to imply that it is a critique against homosexuality, but rather against anti-homosexuality. But you may very well be right, in that this is only one of the topics it covers. Ironically, most of the Bible is written from right to left...
