Reviews:

Josh Woodward rates this 7 / 10:

This is fairly average Americanized Mexican fare, served in a casual atmosphere (the almost unchanged shell of the former Chi-Chis). The beef chimichanga was especially good, with an almost pastry-like flakiness to the crust, and juicy beef that wasn't overcooked. Fast service, low prices, nice and clean.

There's nothing in particular I'd complain about, but to me, it scratches the same itch as Chipotle, but they have these guys beat hands down in flavor and freshness. Their menu is fairly long, but not especially varied or interesting. I'd much rather see them offer some authentic regional cooking, as Abuelo's has successfully done. The McMexican field is just too crowded.

Beef
On May 9th, my sister, her 2 kids, and I ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Rancho Fiesta. My sister ordered the beef tacos, which I thought was weird b/c she usually chooses to eat their Chimichangas, the 2 little ines choose chicken nuggets, just as any little kid would, and I got my fave chicken enchiladas. We left highly satisfied that evening. Until, the next day I get a call from my sister saying she was in the hospital for 6 hours hooked up to an IV. She had been throwing up all day and basically lived on the toilet for the whole morning. I apologize for being so descriptive, but I had to describe what happens to you when you eat the beef at a mexican restaurant. The doctor believes it was food poisoning. I precaution you to choose the beef when eating at Rancho Fiesta or otherwise you will end up like my sister. (Today, May 11th, she is still sick and can not keep anything in her system)

Great Food!
My wife and I love this place. Usually just get Fajitas Texanas, which are great and the Texanas Margaritas are awesome too. I love it. Great food and great service. Never had any food related illness. I assume the previous review from 2007 was just a fluke. Keep up the good work Rancho!
