I'd been hearing my friends rave about this place for years (including the Indian ones), so I finally got a chance to check it out. I wasn't disappointed. It seems like a dive from the outside, but it's actually kinda elegant inside. I'd heard that the service was horrible, so I was prepared for the worst, but it was actually very friendly (verrry slow, but I suspect this is the kind of place that doesn't cut corners to save time). It got off to a great start with the papadums - much more flavorful than usual, with a magical and delicious dipping sauce (mint and mango chutney?). I don't normally get excited about this, but these were amazing. The mango lassi was also perfect. Next comes a salad, which I could take or leave (as with most salads). Fast forward to 45 minutes later when the main course arrived. The lamb masala was fantastic. Fork tender, insanely flavorful, nicely spiced with just the right hint of sweetness. I ordered it spicy, and wow, they obliged. It was almost too much - I love insanely spicy food, but this was getting in the way of tasting things by the end of the meal. The delicious (and super-legit) garlic naan helped, though! I like it when recommendations exceed expectations. I can't wait to go back!
