A question I frequently get: "I'm using one of your songs in my project.
Can you sign this contract / sync license / distribution agreement /
etc?"
My answer is typically no. There are two reasons for this:
- You don't need it. All of my music is available as
Creative Commons
Attribution. That means you can use it, completely free of charge,
for any use, as long as you list my name in the credits. No contract necessary.
- Lawyers are expensive. I'm clueless with regard to all things legal,
so anything I sign has to be read by a professional. Unless it's a high-paid
or very high-profile placement, I can't justify the expense.
If free music frightens your boss, I do offer my music for more traditional
licensing through
Jamendo PRO.
My apologies for any inconvenience this causes any of you!
