I am now an official banjo owner. I gots me a Deering Goodtime open-back 5-string this weekend at Herb David. It plays great and has nice geared tuners. It even has a built-in pickup installed, which is pretty swanky. Fear my folk.

Peter Mulvey did a great job on Saturday. The songwriting workshop up at Elderly was fantastic, and it was really interesting to pick his brain about how he comes up with his stuff. And the show that night at The Ark was great as well. There were at least a dozen songs I'd never heard him do, including a slew of new material from his next album.
